- Take the next step in your sports career at our brand new, state of the art facility
- Part time 25-30 hours per week with scope to extend
A leading independent, coeducational school in the heart of Melbourne's fast-growing west, Westbourne's innovative learning culture is underpinned by a strong tradition of academic excellence and student achievement. Working at Westbourne means you will be welcomed into a supportive community where you will be part of a thriving culture of professional growth and advancement.
Westbourne seeks applications from experienced aquatic centre professionals who support the school's vision and values. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the commercial growth and expansion of our new Sport and Aquatic Centre.
Reporting directly to the Business Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic vision of our future swimming and aquatics offer at Westbourne Grammar. This includes setting up and operating a new aquatics program, developing commercial opportunities and delivering high quality coaching within the new aquatic facility. It's an exciting role, with plenty of scope to make it your own.
Initially 25-30 hours per week, there is scope for expansion to full time, or job share depending on your preference.
You will be passionate about being part of a highly functioning organisation and looking for a hands on role you can truely make your own.
You will have demonstrated experience in starting up a new aquatics program and a proven track record in developing community partnerships and commercial arrangements. Day to day, you will be negotiating venue hire, running the swim school, managing bookings and overseeing logistics.
Ideally you will have exposure to a school environment, however we welcome applicants from the industry with solid commercial acumen, who are looking for a fresh challenge.
You will be a strong communicator, someone with energy and vision. You pride yourself on your consultative skills, your capacity to solve problems effectively and your strong decision-making skills. The ability to bring together a team and work collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes for the School community is essential, so a background in leading staff is desirable.
To be successful, you will have:
- Experience with Envibe or a similar aquatic bookings program
- Austswim certification
- Relevant swimming/coaching qualifications
- Pool operations certificate
- Accredited Swim Coach Bronze
- Lifeguard Accreditation
- Previous experience in start-up of Swim School (essential) within an Independent School (desirable)
- Understanding of legal compliance and best practice OHS in an aquatic environment
